2009 AIFF Oscar Night Gala and Silent Auction
The AIFF rolls out the red carpet to celebrate Hollywood's biggest night, Sunday, February 22. Gather with other film lovers at the Historic Ashland Armory to watch the 81st Annual Academy Awards broadcast projected on two 30 foot screens, with a Silent Auction offering a vast array of premium items donated by local businesses, dinner and drinks. Final Entry Deadline
Our final film entry deadline was December 8. Thanks to all that have submitted your film for consideration. If you have missed the deadline, we look forward to your entry next year! We will notify accepted filmmakers on Feb 2, 2009. Our festival line-up will be posted in late February.
Festival Packs Theatres
The 7th annual ashland independent film festival wrapped after five days of full theatres. 101 of the 130 screenings sold out. 11 filmmakers won juried and audience awards. Helen Hunt received the AIFF Rogue Award and the festival’s Artistic Achievement Awardwas presented to Albert Maysles. "I have received many honors; none of them have touched me as deeply and soulfully," Maysles said.
